Inspired by the work of the late custom knifemaker Bob Lum, Spyderco’s Lil’ Lum folding knife translates one of his most popular and enduring ethnic designs into an extremely compact folding knife optimized for everyday carry. A scaled-down version of Spyderco’s classic Lum Chinese folder, the Lil’ Lum traces its history back to a traditional Chinese folding knife called a “Shilin Cutter.” Its iconic “bamboo-leaf-shaped” blade is crafted from VG-10 stainless steel and boasts a full-flat grind and a gently curved PlainEdge™ cutting edge for exceptional edge geometry and low-friction cutting performance. Its fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ provides a purchase for swift, one-handed opening and unmistakably identifies it as a Spyderco product.

The Lil’ Lum’s handle’s features full skeletonized stainless steel liners and open-backed construction that reduce weight and form the foundation of its stout LinerLock mechanism. In this special Sprint Run edition of the design, the liners are paired with stunning blue Nishijin glass fiber scales. Created in Japan more than 1,200 years ago, Nishijin is a traditional method of textile weaving known for its meticulous, colorful detail. The scales of the Lil' Lum Sprint translate this intricate art form to state-of-the-art glass fiber, creating an amazing synthesis of classic style and high-tech durability.

Straddling the line between timeless tradition and reliable high performance, this limited edition Lil’ Lum Sprint Run is a truly unique cutting tool with deep ethnic roots.
